The Port Huron Blitzkrieg and Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
Ellenburg beat Port Huron on the strength of starter Anastasio Ayala's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-0. Ayala went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 4-4.
Having an impact for Ellenburg was Wyatt Quick. In the bottom of the fourth inning, the 32-year old left fielder had a run-scoring ground out to make the score 2-0, Fighting Dachshunds.
"Slowly but surely, the wins are piling up," said Quick.
Ellenburg is now 33-24.
