Blitzkrieg Prevail, 5-3, Over Milton
|
Port Huron designated hitter Mike Sherman made his presence felt in the 5-3 Blitzkrieg triumph over the Milton Dogfish Head. Sherman went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Gustavo Rivera, the winning pitcher, improved to 1-3. He pitched 7.1 innings, giving up 8 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 1. Cristo Sánchez got credit for the save for Port Huron. It was his 13th of the year.
Naomichi Kodo dealt the Dogfish Head a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with the bases loaded and Port Huron trailing 1-0, Kodo, who leads the 3AAA in bases on balls with 40, hit a first pitch changeup for a 2-run single.
"Anything I can do to help the team win," said Sherman.
Port Huron now has a 3-game win streak.
