Brass Win at Kansas, 8-4
|
Baton Rouge picked up a win at Wichita Field, toppling the Kansas Rainbeaus, 8-4. Pitcher David Schrattenthaler was one of the reasons the Brass triumphed. Picking up the save was Bill Lawrence, his 2nd. The loss drops Kansas to 1-9.
Baton Rouge left fielder Bill Palmer contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball into center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 9th hit of the season and put the Brass ahead, 4-1.
"I liked his command," said Baton Rouge manager Daniel Edwards. "David was throwing strikes."
