The Thunderbirds grabbed a win, 2-1, at Port Huron Park, overcoming a fine effort from Port Huron pitcher Ed Pearce. Pearce went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Reliever Joseph Ferguson picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Ed Pearce took the loss.

Hamilton took the lead in the top of the sixth. With two out and a runner on 3rd, Tom Rollins stroked a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Thunderbirds.

Rollins called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
