McBride Delivers Walk-Off Win for Fighting Dachshunds
|
The Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds overcame a fine performance by Sioux Falls third baseman Dave Richards to defeat the Red Pandas, 7-6, at Dog Park in Ellenburg. Richards went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The Fighting Dachshunds go to 12-13, putting them 7th in the Menard's AAA.
Bake McBride was the walk-off hero for Ellenburg. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Fighting Dachshunds right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Sioux Falls manager Leslie Brooks. "But we decided not to take it."
