Red Pandas Topple Dogfish Head, 11-4, as Murunga Shines
The Sioux Falls Red Pandas beat the Milton Dogfish Head by a score of 11-4. Sioux Falls left fielder Gaballah Murunga deserved the lion's share of the credit. Murunga was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Red Pandas. Salvador Heredia, the winning pitcher, improved to 1-0. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 2. The loss drops Milton to 11-5.

The Dogfish Head had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Red Pandas going into the bottom of the second inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old second baseman Paul Hutchins came to the plate. Hutchins hit a 3-run home run on a 0-1 fastball from Milton hurler António López. It was Hutchins's 4th home run of the year.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Murunga told the Sioux Falls Observer.
