Starks Turn Away Rainbeaus, 3-1
|
Syracuse and Kansas duked it out and the Starks came out victorious.
Syracuse pitcher Jake Mitchell did his part in helping his team beat the Kansas Rainbeaus, 3-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. In 6 innings, Mitchell surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. He allowed no runs. The save was credited to Cisco García, his 2nd.
In the bottom of the third, Buddy Patton hit a 2-run double. The 1st double of the season for the Syracuse first baseman put the Starks on top, 2-0.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Kansas manager Jim Thornton.
The loss makes Kansas 0-4.
