Athletic Club KC Beats Syracuse, 3-1
|
The Athletic Club KC Reserves picked up a win at KC Reserve Stadium, knocking off the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys, 3-1. Starting pitcher Jamie Miller played a key role in the triumph. Tim Walker recorded the save for Athletic Club KC, his 1st of the season. The loss puts Syracuse at 0-2.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Tim Walker didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Syracuse trailing 2-1, Walker retired Luis Concepción to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Walker, with a wink.
