The Hamilton Thunderbirds topped the Port Huron Blitzkrieg, 5-3, in M3L Triple A action at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. The game was highlighted by the performance of Hamilton pitcher Ed Walters. Walters, now 2-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 3 runs. Hamilton now has a record of 4-2.

The Thunderbirds got a big hit from center fielder Ed Reese. In the bottom of the sixth, Reese pounded a solo home run to left-center. His 2nd home run of the season put the Thunderbirds ahead, 5-3.

"I still think this team has room for improvement," Walters told the Hamilton Gazette.
