Knights Need Extra Innings to Top Fog, 4-3
|
Sunset District got a decent performance from pitcher Cornell Rogers, but it wasn't enough to beat the Nolensville Knights. Nolensville won the Nolensville Park contest, 4-3. Rogers threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. The winner was Nolensville reliever Alejandro Colón, now 1-0. The loser was Dan Barnes. With the loss, Sunset District drops to 3-2.
Nolensville won the game in the bottom of the 14th inning. With one out and Dan Barnes on the mound for Sunset District, shortstop Cory Blatchford hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Knights fans to their feet.
"The game of baseball will test you," said Shawn Hicks, the Nolensville skipper. "This one tested us."
