Extra-Inning Win by Leviathan Over White Walkers
|
The Buffalo White Walkers got a sterling performance from second baseman Jaime Soto, but the Nova Scotia Leviathan still prevailed, 6-5. Soto went 4 for 8 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Manuel Ruíz came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Will Sovaiala locked down his 1st save.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Christiaan Bunschoten, the 31-year old first baseman ? Bunschoten stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 17th inning to put Nova Scotia up, 6-5. For the game, he was 2 for 8, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We didn't go down without a fight," said Buffalo manager Chris Lau.
After today's action, Nova Scotia sits at 9-18, while Buffalo falls to 19-8.
