The Toledo Stingers did just enough to secure a victory over the Kingston Township Knights, 5-4, at Pacesetter Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Archie MacMurchy. MacMurchy, now 3-4, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 11, walking 2, and allowing 4 runs. Claude Richardson recorded his 8th save for Toledo.
Mark Curry, who is tied for 10th in the 3L in home runs with 5, contributed to the Toledo win with a solo home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
"I like the roll we're on right now," said Curry after the game.
The first-place Stingers now have a 6-game winning streak.
