Mississippi starter Boris Milatovic pitched well against the San Mateo Dirty Reds at Magnolia Park. The right-hander led his team to a win, 8-1. Milatovic, now 3-1, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 8, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. The Mockingbirds have an impressive 16-9 record.

The Mockingbirds got a big hit from second baseman Terumoto Nakanishi. In the bottom of the eighth, Nakanishi pounded a bases-clearing triple to right. His 2nd triple of the season put the Mockingbirds ahead, 8-1.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Nakanishi told the Mississippi Gazette.
