Kingfishers Get Past Boston for 1-0 Win
|
The Pittsburgh Kingfishers went home winners at Pittsburgh Grounds, thanks in large part to starter Craig Culver. Culver stifled the Boston Patriots, enabling Pittsburgh to grab the 1-0 win. The win gives Pittsburgh a season record of 56-48.
Pittsburgh took a 1-0 lead on Alohinani Puanani's 19th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Puanani hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Boston pitcher Jorge Gil shaking his head.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Puanani said after the game.
