Kong Leads 84s to 8-6 Win Over Dirty Reds
The Greenville 84s bested the San Mateo Dirty Reds, 8-6, at 84s Field. Xiao-gang Kong was one of the standouts. He went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Greenville reliever Zack Coffey picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Hahn Hartwig shouldered the loss. The win puts Greenville at 13-9 this season.

Kong had a game-changing double in the bottom of the eighth. On a 0-2 changeup from Hahn Hartwig, he banged a 2-run double to left-center, giving the 84s a 8-6 lead. It was the 7th double of the year for Kong.

"Let's just say I'm happy we won," said Kong. "There are a lot of people in the clubhouse who like to whine too much when we lose."
