Patriots Fell Cattlemen, 3-1

The Boston Patriots took Ft. Worth pitcher Currito Fonseca's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Dunkin Donuts Park. The final score had Boston getting past the Cattlemen, 3-1. Fonseca went 6 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 3. Luis Gutiérrez earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. His record is now 1-0. Greg King was credited with the save for Boston, his 4th of the season.
Bill Zimmerman chipped in for Boston with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Boston manager Tyler Carter. "Our pregame was pretty good."
The first-place Patriots, at 58-43, now lead their division by 3½ games.
