Dirty Reds Lose to Mockingbirds, 8-5
The Mississippi Mockingbirds put one in the win column on Opening Day at Magnolia Park. The Mockingbirds defeated the San Mateo Dirty Reds, 8-5. Mississippi left fielder Darrell MacGregor was instrumental in his team's success. He was 3 for 4 with a triple and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 3.

MacGregor had a game-changing triple in the bottom of the sixth. On a first pitch fastball from Jorge González, he banged a bases-clearing triple to left-center, giving the Mockingbirds a 5-2 lead. It was the 1st triple of the year for MacGregor.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," MacGregor told the Mississippi Gazette.
