MSL Northern Virginia Stops Vela's Hit Streak Monday, August 23rd , 2049 The MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids did something to Adrián Vela no team had done for the last 25 games -- they stopped him, ending his consecutive-game hitting streak. Unfortunately, they couldn't do the same to the U-18, who came away with the 12-4 victory at MSL ACKC Ballpark. "Hey, I knew it wasn't going to last forever," the 18-year-old center fielder said of the demise of his streak. "It was a good ride while it lasted." This year Vela is batting .449 with 75 hits and 1 home run. He has scored 40 times and has batted in 42 runs. |
