25-Game Hitting Streak for Vela Wednesday, August 18th , 2049 Adrián Vela ran his hitting streak to 25 straight games today at MSL San Mateo Ballpark, when he collected 2 hits in 5 at-bats. The feat came, however, as the MSL Athletic Club KC U-18 dropped the game, 11-5, to the MSL San Mateo Dirty Reds. "Hey, the streak is great -- I hope it never ends," Vela said later. "But I'm not happy to lose the game." Adrián Vela grounded out in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, struck out in the 5th, singled in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th. This season Vela is batting .455 with 1 home run. |
