Vázquez Named 3A-'s #1 Hurler Friday, September 24th , 2049 The spotlight today is on Carlos Vázquez of the Shady Side Zoomies. He was named the top pitcher in the M3L Low A and will be honored with the 2049 Pitcher of the Year Award. Vázquez compiled an impressive 7-3 won-lost mark to capture this year's honor. In 111 innings of work and 18 starts, the Zoomies star struck out 110, while giving up 78 hits and 37 walks. He limited opposing batters to a .193 average. He received 12 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Edgardo Gutiérrez of the Northwest Territory Beavers finished second in voting, while Gunnar Quinn of the Shady Side Zoomies finished third.
