Great Stroke: Lourens Gets 5 Hits
Saturday, July 17th , 2049
It seemed that Watford City second baseman Karst Lourens could do no wrong as the Trash Pandas KO'd the Ducks, 14-4 today. Lourens rapped out 5 hits in 6 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Ducks hurlers were throwing.
"I think the Trash Pandas were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Long Island fan after the game.
"I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Lourens in the postgame press interview.
Karst Lourens grounded out in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jeremy Hathaway in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, hit a two-run double in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
In the current season, Lourens has put up a .259 batting average with 29 hits, 2 home runs, 12 RBI and scored 16 runs.
