Pineda Socks It to Whales, Cracks 5 Hits Friday, July 16th , 2049 The Virginia Beach Whales couldn't stop Armando Pineda today, but they stopped the Olympia Ogres, 9-7. Pineda went 5-for-6 in the game at Virginia Beach Grounds, but his team still came out on the wrong end of the score. "I feel bad for Armando -- that's not how any of us wanted things to turn out," said Olympia manager Steve Ward. "The Whales were on their game today." Armando Pineda singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th.
