Bad Behavior Costs Villanueva and Woodruff
Thursday, June 17th , 2049
If there wasn't a history between Marcos Villanueva of Mercer Island and Randy Woodruff of Gwinnett, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 4 and 6 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today.
"We're both really competitive," Villanueva said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it."
This season Villanueva has delivered 17 hits in 55 at-bats for a .309 average with 1 home run. He is getting on base at a .367 clip and his totals also include 5 RBIs and 9 runs scored. This year Villanueva has played in 19 games.
This year Woodruff has compiled a 4-0 record with a 0.88 ERA.
