SAA's Top Player, Gómez of Mercer Island Monday, June 14th , 2049 So far in his young career, Jorge Gómez has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the USSL Double A in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts. The 24-year-old Mercer Island Screaming Eagles right fielder hit at a torrid .353 clip as he collected 6 hits in 17 at-bats, 3 home runs, 6 RBIs and 4 runs scored. For the season Gómez is currently batting .289 with 14 home runs and 31 RBIs. In 33 games he has reached base at a .368 rate and scored 23 runs to date. |
