George Mayes Captures Prestigious Trophy

The future looks extremely bright for George Mayes. At the age of 25, many players are still trying to find their way in USSL Double A.
Mayes has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the USSL Double A Outstanding Hitter Award.
"I didn't expect to hit .287 this year, that's for sure," the catcher said.
The Gwinnett Guinea Pigs star also put up a .376 on-base percentage this year, with 68 hits, 9 doubles, 2 triples, 25 home runs, 60 RBIs and 48 runs scored.
He received 5 first place votes out of a possible 10. Jim McClain of the St. Petersburg Thunder finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Bob Hargrove of the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs finished third with 1 first place vote.
