Season Over for Francisco González in Hialeah Monday, June 14th , 2049 The doctors have spoken and Francisco González of the Hialeah Dodos didn't like what he heard. The 36-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. González sustained his season-ending injury during the Syracuse Starks game yesterday at Stark Stadium. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Hialeah medical staff reported González had a stretched elbow ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 9-10 months. His stats sheet for the year shows González has managed to hold opponents to a .211 average in 12 relief appearances, while putting up 3-1 record with 36 strikeouts and 9 walks in 30.1 innings. He has a 3.26 ERA with no saves. |
