Renninger Belts Bunch of Base Hits Sunday, June 6th , 2049 Benjamin Renninger told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard." Well, that's just what Renninger of the Jersey City Tritons did against the Athletic Club KC Reserves. He went to the plate 5 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, but his club still suffered a 7-6 defeat. "Not much I can say," offered Renninger in the postgame press conference. "I got a bunch of hits, but it would have been much better to get a win. Can I trade 5 hits for the win?" Benjamin Renninger hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. So far this season Renninger is batting .284 with 1 home run, 5 RBIs and 7 runs scored. He has 19 hits in 67 at-bats, 7 walks and a .377 OBP. Renninger has played in 22 games.
