LaBarge Twirls 8-0 Shutout
Wednesday, September 15th , 2049
The Nashville Outlaws shut out the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC 8-0 today behind the strong pitching of Jared LaBarge. LaBarge surrendered only 5 hits in recording the complete-game victory, and struck out 6.
Following the last out, LaBarge appeared to celebrate a little too boisterously for Thunder Bay manager Scott Williams, who could be seen scolding the famously outspoken right-hander as the clubs left the field. LaBarge's own manager then intervened with some words for his counterpart.
The Northern Lions BC skipper would not comment on the exchange, but at the Outlaws press conference, LaBarge confirmed that it was regarding the celebration.
"He basically told me I was being a lousy winner," LaBarge said.
"And I told him he was being a lousy loser," Nashville manager Ben Draus added.
This year LaBarge has a 9-9 record with a 3.87 ERA.
