Belli Named Top Reliever for SL
Wednesday, November 3rd , 2049
Magnus Belli said with his contract set to expire, it was important he put up a big season with the Colorado Billy Goats. He did exactly that and has won the 2049 United States Silver League Reliever of the Year Award.
"When your contract is about to expire and you're maybe going to become a free agent, you really want to show the league that you've still got it," the 32-year-old said. "I think I proved myself and should be able to get a pretty good contract now."
His season saw opponents hit only .144 against him, while he fashioned a 1.67 ERA over 54 innings of work. He made 47 relief appearances and had 32 saves, with 103 strikeouts, 19 walks and a record of 1-5.
Jorge Gil of the Boston Patriots finished second in voting, while Anthony Hurst of the New Orleans Voodoo finished third.
