Mitra Finally Fails, Streak Ends at 26 Tuesday, August 24th , 2049 Daulat Mitra saw his 26-game hitting streak wither and die today during the Detroit Elite win over Echo Park at Detroit Stadium. The 23-year-old shortstop was held hitless in 3 at-bats by the Echo Park Lakers, but his teammates produced enough offense to take the game, 6-5. "Am I disappointed about the hit streak? Maybe, just a little bit," a seemingly upbeat Mitra told reporters in the clubhouse. "But really, how could you be unhappy after you hit in 26 straight games? I'm just glad it lasted as long as it did. Life is good." Thus far in 2049 Mitra is hitting .325 with 3 home runs, 32 RBIs, 46 runs scored and has compiled a .357 OBP. |
