Alonso on the Attack, Player of the Week Monday, August 16th , 2049 22-year-old Armando Alonso made a few Myrtle Beach headlines during this past week as the rookie third baseman proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and USPL Single A officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 7 hits in 17 at-bats to put up a .412 average. Alonso collected 3 home runs, 7 RBIs and scored 6 runs. Alonso is presently batting .269 with 11 home runs, 36 runs scored and 42 RBIs. His OBP is .326. |
