García Grabs SA Reliever of the Year Award Thursday, September 23rd , 2049 Jorge García was a calming influence out of the Huntington Hermit Crabs bullpen this season. His teammates and manager said he had a poised demeanor about him that was typical of someone much older and more experienced. His poise has paid off, as the 23-year-old turned in a sparkling season and has been named the winner of the USSL Single A Reliever of the Year Award for 2049. The Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic native won the award with 4 saves in 27 relief appearances, 62 strikeouts in 56 innings and a record of 3-1 to go with his 1.29 ERA. He received 8 first place votes out of a possible 10. Melis Ooyendijk of the Cut Off Crawdads finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Jack Williams of the Matlacha Manatees finished third.
