Chiefs Lose Helms for Season Sunday, July 25th , 2049 A blow for Jason Helms today -- team doctors confirmed he will miss 7 months with a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. Helms suffered the injury throwing a pitch. Although officials from the Caldwell Chiefs are confident he'll make a full recovery, doubts will persist about Helms's ability to return fully fit with an injury of this nature. So far this year Helms has made 11 starts, tossed 90.2 innings, struck out 104 batters and walked 31. His record is 3-4 with a 3.18 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .222 batting average. |
