Hitting Streak Still Alive for Bartelen Wednesday, September 2nd , 2048 Umberto Bartelen has been ripping hits every day for a while now, and nobody seems able to stop him. The MSL New Orleans third baseman picked up 4 more today against the MSL Kingston Township Knights and now has a 34-game hitting streak. The Voodoo won the game 9-8. "Definitely somebody's going to stop me at some point," he said later, chuckling. "I'll enjoy it for the time being." Umberto Bartelen struck out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This year Bartelen is batting .506 with 8 home runs and 68 RBIs. In 35 games he has scored 36 times. |
