Consecutive-Game Hit Streak Continues for Bartelen Tuesday, August 25th , 2048 Win or lose, Umberto Bartelen just keeps on getting base hits -- game after game after game. He picked up 1 more today and has now stretched his hitting streak to 32 games. The MSL New Orleans Voodoo third baseman went 1-for-5 today, but it wasn't enough to win the game. His club was defeated 9-5 by the MSL Toledo Stingers at MSL Toledo Ballpark. "It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "We just don't want to jinx him." Umberto Bartelen struck out in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and struck out in the 8th. Thus far this season in 33 games Bartelen is batting .497 with 8 home runs, 63 RBIs and 32 runs scored. He has 75 hits in 151 at-bats. |
