Bartelen's Hit Streak Reaches 31 Games Monday, August 24th , 2048 Umberto Bartelen has been on a tear for several weeks, and his hitting streak just keeps getting longer. The 18-year-old MSL New Orleans Voodoo third baseman extended his streak today to 31 games, going 2-for-5 as MSL New Orleans got the best of the MSL Toledo Stingers at MSL Toledo Ballpark, 9-0. "Umberto has been playing real well lately and we're proud of him," Voodoo manager John Simpson said. Umberto Bartelen flied out in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th. So far this season Bartelen has put up a .507 batting average with 74 hits, 8 home runs and 61 RBIs. |
