Téllez's 23-Game Hit Streak Ends
Tuesday, July 21st , 2048
After 23 games, José Téllez had his hitting streak ended abruptly today by the MSL Panama City Piranhas at MSL Panama City Ballpark. The MSL Las Vegas Flamingos first baseman failed to get a hit in 2 at-bats, bringing his tenure in the national spotlight to a halt.
Despite the tough day at the plate, Téllez seemed unconcerned after the game, talking instead about the Flamingos taking a 12-11 victory from the Piranhas.
"It was good while it lasted," Téllez said. "If it had to end, I'm glad it ended with a victory."
This season Téllez is swinging the bat at a .393 rate with 57 hits in 145 at-bats. To date he has hit 5 home runs, scored 40 runs and driven in 45.
