Cháves 5-for-6 for Voodoo
Saturday, July 4th , 2048
After a 5-hit effort to lead MSL New Orleans's 13-8 victory over the MSL Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, left fielder Pancho Cháves told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."
"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the M3L Mexican Summer League-level is really something special."
The 18-year-old player earned his accolades today at MSL New Orleans Ballpark with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Northern Lions BC.
"His swing is getting there," said Voodoo skipper John Simpson, who spoke glowingly of Cháves after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Pancho did that to perfection today."
Pancho Cháves singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
Presently Cháves is hitting .553 with 1 home run and 22 RBIs. He has played in 25 games and scored 34 times.
