Friday, September 18th , 2048
He may have less experience than most of his USSL Mexican Summer League peers, but that didn't slow Pedro Murillo down at all in 2048.
At the age of 18, the MSL Long Island shortstop has been named the winner of the USSL Mexican Summer League Most Valuable Player Award.
He had a .449 batting average and a .508 on-base percentage this year. In 48 games he piled up 97 hits, 16 doubles, 1 triple, 4 home runs, 58 RBIs and 60 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 5 first place votes out of a possible 10. Feitze Lammers of the MSL Long Island Lighthouse finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Enrique Cruz of the MSL Baltimore Bullets finished third with 1 first place vote.
