The hot bat of Kingfishers second baseman Juan Martínez continues to churn out hit after hit, game after game. His consecutive-game hitting streak now numbers 31 games after he went 2-for-5 in today's 7-5 loss to the Elite at MSL Pittsburgh Ballpark.
"I'm trying not to think about it much," he said later. "I don't want to mess with whatever zone I'm in." Juan Martínez flied out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
For the season Martínez has hit .450 with 3 home runs and 43 RBIs. He has played in 41 games and scored 36 times.
