League Gives Pineda 4-Game Suspension
Monday, August 24th , 2048
The suspension of center fielder Armando Pineda did not sit well with the Redwood Rhinos. Both Pineda and his manager were livid at what both say is an unjustified 4-game suspension issued today by league officials. Pineda was suspended for "inappropriate conduct" during a game against the Hudsonville Flanderses yesterday at The Zoo.
Pineda was ejected from the game for arguing a strike call. "It's not right," he said, adding, "I didn't do anything to deserve this. Eject me, but don't suspend me."
His manager also vented his displeasure. "Arguments go on all the time, face-to-face, and there's not a suspension. To be suspended is ridiculous. That's bull."
Pineda did more than just argue the call, he threw his bat at the feet of the umpire and walked off the field. That is the main reason the league suspended him.
In 2048 Pineda has hit at a .326 clip with 111 hits, 14 home runs, 42 RBIs and has scored 72 times.
