3 Roundtrippers for Ynegas Thursday, August 20th , 2048 Claudio Ynegas went on an explosive hitting spree against the Beaumont Crossbeaus at The Target today, launching a trio of blasts to lead the Athletic Club KC U-21 to the 9-2 win. The center fielder finished 3-for-4 with 3 runs scored and 5 runs batted in. "It was just one of those days," Ynegas said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Beaumont skipper Steve Ferguson said Ynegas was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Claudio Ynegas hit a solo-shot off José Lucero in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off José Lucero in the 2nd, hit a sac fly in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Bob Barlick in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th. This season Ynegas is hitting .395 with 120 hits, 31 home runs, 75 RBIs, scored 78 runs and played in 71 games. |
