Chaumond's Season Could be Over
Friday, August 9th , 2047
The doctors have spoken and Roberto Chaumond of the Greenport Harbor Whales didn't like what he heard. The 19-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Chaumond sustained his season-ending injury during the Ladue Rams game yesterday at Ballpark of Robbins. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Greenport medical staff reported Chaumond had a damaged elbow ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 11-12 months.
This season Chaumond has worked 82.1 innings with 66 strikeouts en route to a 4-7 record and a 3.94 ERA.
