Centennial End Ynegas's Streak Sunday, August 9th , 2048 The Athletic Club KC U-21 lost to the Fort Knox Centennial 2-1 today at Ballpark of Elkhorn City, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Claudio Ynegas's 24-game hitting streak. The center fielder went 0-for-4 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Ynegas, we would win the game," Centennial manager Justin Saginov explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." This year Ynegas is hitting at a .371 pace with 24 home runs and 60 RBIs. He has played in 63 games and scored 65 times. |
