Virginia Beach-Mercer Island Brawl, Jones and Moreno Suspended Friday, September 18th , 2048 If there wasn't a history between Gregory Jones of Virginia Beach and Armando Moreno of Mercer Island, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 4 and 8 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Jones said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." In this current campaign Jones is hitting at a .262 clip with 15 home runs and 45 RBIs. In 8 starts this season Moreno has notched a 2-2 record and a 3.58 ERA. |
