Alepeleke and Fernández Suspended for Free-for-All Monday, August 31st , 2048 After an intense confrontation, both the Polar Bears Pakomio Alepeleke and the Atoms Luis Fernández were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Billings-Bethesda game. Pakomio Alepeleke will miss 5 games, while Luis Fernández was suspended for 6 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Pakomio Alepeleke commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." For the year Alepeleke is batting .249 with 8 home runs, 20 RBIs and 22 runs scored. Thus far this season, Fernández has tossed 80 innings in 18 starts, fanned 77 batters, walked 49 and put up a 8.32 ERA with 1 win and 9 losses. |
