Gaufi Belts 3 HR for Guinea Pigs
Wednesday, June 17th , 2048
Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Alanzo Gaufi can celebrate.
The Gwinnett Guinea Pigs first baseman powered three into the stands at Experimental Stadium today against the Toledo Saboteurs.
"It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Gaufi told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one."
In all, he was 3-for-3 as the Guinea Pigs toppled Toledo by a score of 18-5, knocking in 7 runs and scoring 3 times.
"He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Gwinnett manager Cody Jaeckel said. "He gets the ball up in the air."
Alanzo Gaufi hit a solo-shot off Mike Thornton in the 1st, was hit by a pitch in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, walked in the 6th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Roy Crum in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Cristo Sánchez in the 8th.
On the year Gaufi is hitting .276 with 40 hits, 12 home runs, 26 RBIs, .375 OBP and has scored 24 runs.
