League Suspends Fisher and Vázquez for Fisticuffs Thursday, July 2nd , 2048 Yesterday at Field of the Krewe Jesse Fisher and Jorge Vázquez got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Crescent City Krewe and Tacoma Fur Traders. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Fisher will have to sit out 4 while Vázquez would be given a 8-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. Looking at his season stats, Fisher has compiled a .316 batting average and a .398 on-base percentage, while hitting 5 home runs and driving in 14 runs. |
