McClain Goes 5-for-6 Against Irving

All game long, St. Petersburg's Jim McClain was rattling the walls at Blue Sox Ballpark and banging out base hits against the Irving Blue Sox. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Thunder had a 5-3 victory.
Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 24-year-old left fielder said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this."
Jim McClain hit a two-run double in the 1st, singled in the 4th, walked in the 6th, singled in the 8th, struck out in the 10th, doubled in the 13th and hit an RBI double in the 15th.
Looking at his stats this year, McClain has compiled a .279 batting average, while hitting 5 home runs and driving in 17 runs. He has played in 28 games and scored 16 runs.
