Green Bangs 3 HR Against Sioux Falls
Thursday, July 16th , 2048
Norfolk Pajaritos right fielder Paul Green sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little.
Prior to the start of today's contest with the Sioux Falls Red Pandas, Green told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times.
"During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber."
The big day from Green pushed the Pajaritos past the Red Pandas, 13-4. To go along with the homers, he collected 5 RBIs and scored 3 runs.
"I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Green told reporters after the game.
Paul Green hit a solo-shot off Ken Bates in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Gary Ashley in the 4th and hit a two-run home run off Nate Flores in the 6th.
Green is swinging at a .286 pace on the year with 12 home runs, 25 RBIs and 20 runs scored. He has played in 32 games.
